Quotes serve as a placeholder in time for product pricing. If you are bidding on a project, or need to provide pricing to a customer that needs to time to make a decision, saving a quote will lock in your pricing for 45 days - even if the list price of the product changes in that time period. Building and saving a quote on seclock.com is accomplished in the same way you add items to your cart. The only difference: you save the cart as a quote instead of checking out.

Quickly adding items to your cart for a quote

There are two special features to build out a cart for saving as a quote, the quick search and the item add input. Although you can add items to your cart in any way you like, from any product detail as you normally would, you have the ability to open the cart and just start adding items.

This quick-build is centered around knowing what you need before hand. In no way is this the only way to build a cart. But being able to add items quickly without navigating off the cart page is a big help.

Quick search

Start typing your part number in the quick search field, and click on the product you want to add. The system will grab the part and add it to your cart automatically. Once the product is in your cart, you will see pricing, inventory, and any other pertinent information.

Item input

The item input is the same concept as quick search, the difference is that you are typing in a part number exactly as it appears on seclock.com or on your orders/invoices. This allows you to add items that may not even be found on the web. The entire part number must be typed correctly or it will not add. Once you have the part number typed exactly, hit enter or click the add button.

Saving your quote

Once you have all the items in your cart that you would like included in your quote, hit the Save As Quote button in the bottom row of the cart.

You will then be presented with some fields to identify this quote, including information about the project if applicable. The job name is required. Feel free to fill in as much info as possible, then hit Save Quote.

Once your quote is saved, it will be sent to our systems to be processed. This will take anywhere from a few seconds up to 5 minutes. During that time your quote will not be visible in your quotes list. You will receive and email notification with all the information you provided.

You now have a saved quote! Fill up your cart and do it all over again, as many times as you need for as many projects or jobs you have.
